Panic *Disorder* with agoraphobia sounds more like it to me. If you take clonazepam as a *maintenance med* and Xanax *as needed* for *breakthrough attacks* that’s a good combination. Philip, I wish you were my doctor. You know more than they do, frankly. I am lucky to get my .5mg of Klonopin when I do. No Xanax, EVER! Well, I take that back, when first diagnosed he gave me one prescription of Xanax and said "this is it, don’t ever ask me for these again" I didn’t ask him for them then, BTW. that would be how I discribe my current condition but the value is only in knowing they can name it. i consider agrophobia to be a shut-down mechanism for a overly stressed mind and body you develop phobias that seem to limit your ability to do thing and also can develop save zone that you can feel uncomfortable (understatement) if you go out of and you can also develop a unnatural attachment to people that make you feel safe, (or like me where there wasn’t a safe zone, there wasn’t a save person, and I was afraid of everything including being afraid of everything) with a history of panic attack was added for those who develop agrophobia and had panic attacks in the past, my quess is agrophobia can be a common condition that comes about because of unresolved panic attacks disorder and added stress. people can develop agrophobia that never had panic attacks in the past. Hope your getting good psycological help along with the med as a change in how you handle stress and how you handle panic attacks will be helpfull I take lorazapam .05 as needed for panic attacks currently and they are few and far between right now I am still working on expanding my safe zone and as I do more things that I had a phobia about without experience any anxiety it leads me to believe that my other phobias will be solved, even if they require more of a commitment on my part.
